Does anyone remember James' first voice (first couple of episodes)? Do you think it was changed because they needed more of a comic relief character?

Nevertheless, James is awesome. He's an aristocrat, but he's awesome.

lol. Its funny when you watch that first episode where you hear them talking together in their balloon. Their voices are soo different! Jame was too silly to keep that serious voice.

Meowth and Jessie keep the same actor right? They just have much more practice so they sound better now?

Oh wow, it's been so long since I've seen an episode of the Anime. I honestly don't ever remember a change in James' voice.

Still, I looked on Bulbapedia to see if I could find any information on it, but I couldn't find a reason why they changed the voice actor. Although, I would buy Lampy's idea. He is a really big comic relief character, imo.

James in the old days sounds like Zarbon from DBZ lol.

they were very intimidating the first few episodes, and i started watching pokemon when i was 4.
they probably changed his voice cause they felt they would scare children off.

Hmm.. I was never scared? I was about six. Idk. I guess the perspective of Team Rocket is suppose to provide comic relief in a sense, but also the image of a bad guy. So if his voice is intimidating, then that's good.
