It's really as the title suggests. I have read a few chapters of the manga, and research a lot of the main plot lines. It seems the manga would appeal more to an older audience. Why don't they turn the manga into an anime series? Or is there talk about this?

Well, there was a hoax a few weeks back where we thought that they were going to turn the first arc of the manga into an anime special. We discussed it on POL here but, as I said, it turned out to be wrong. I agree with you, though, I think it would be awesome to have an anime based solely on the manga. I've read through Emerald arc, and I thought it was awesome. Unfortunately, I don't think an anime is going to happen any time soon.

:(. There are so many characters though. Gold, Silver arc, Red, Blue, Green, Yellow arcs, etc. It would be fantastic. But as I stated above it would kind of appeal more to an older audience, which in the long run would make them more money. Idk, I hope Black and White is a little better than the traditional formula. I think the formula needs a new variable.

Yeah, I know what you mean. The only downsides I can think of though is that it would be starting really late in the series (everything else is about to start gen 5 and this new anime is just starting gen 1) and that you wouldn't be able to capture everything in the manga in an anime form. I think it would just have a different feel to it.

I agree. However, if you have die hard fans, they wouldn't care. But, it might be the series that people begin to watch. It would be a change, because I think the manga is not gym oriented, it actual plot line. Which would give fans a change from the 13 seasons of yeah! 8 badge! yeah! conference! yeah 8 more badges! yeah another conference! repeat.

Yeah, that makes sense. It would definitely be much different from the current anime. I guess I don't know too much about the anime, though, since I don't watch it anymore... =/

I still think it would be very hard to capture the manga in anime-form. I mean, if they tried it, I would definitely watch it, but I see myself thinking that the manga is much better than the manga-based anime.

Well, I guess that is how some manga or series get wrecked, right? I mean, if the animation is not done up to par, or people hate the voice actors, then the anime will get negative reviews. But regardless, it's still pokemon. It seems there is a lot of older population who still like this series, and it seems that the manga would appeal more because there seems to me a little bit more adult themes.

Gen 1's voice actors were semi-barable. Gen2 was kinda iffy and gen 3 onwards sucked horribly.

Yeah, I guess so. I mean, as I said, I would watch it no matter how bad it was (unless it was just absolutely terrible). I think that the manga storyline is better than the current anime storyline, and I think that the concept of an anime based on the manga is very appealing. I just hope that it would be done well.

Hmmm. Here's another angle. The current anime is good for the younger population. When I was six or seven, it didn't matter how crappy the story line I think it is now, I enjoyed it nonetheless. Perhaps the Pokemon franchise is looking on continuing this formula. The formula being the same thing when I was six years old, or when you were six years old, or a current six year old. But here comes the problem. The concept of Pokemon has the interests of the older population, being 16-19. I even know a few people in their thirties who like it still (I assume being adopted through their kids). Another problem that arises is the fact that: how can a series have the interest of the younger population, but also the older. If you have middle ground, then it can go either way, no guarantee of a solid profit. A way around this, might be to turn the games into the manga storyline. That would be kick butt. Perhaps this has a higher chance then a full anime series. Both would be awesome. But, this is too wishful thinking.
